Digital Marketing SEO
You might have heard of digital marketing (SEO) a lot of time. What is it, and why is it gaining popularity in recent years? Join me in discovering what SEO is in this article.
What are Search Engines?
Search Engines are software programs that allow people to find the information they are searching for on the Internet using phrases or keywords. As a product of the world’s modernization, Search Engines work by using web crawlers to find multiple website contents that are relevant to the keywords or phrases you typed in.
Arguably, the best search engine is Google! Bing, Baidu, and Yahoo are a few other search engines that may be familiar to you if you are a constant Internet user.
What are Web Crawlers?
Web crawlers, also known as search engine crawlers, are Internet bots that browse the World Wide Web systematically and aid search engines in indexing websites.
The finished output of web crawlers is basically a list of related websites, which are ranked from most to least relevant.
Search Engine Results Pages and The Types of Results It Present
Search Engine Results Pages, or SERPs, are the list of results that the search engine shows you after you enter the keywords and phrases for the information you are seeking.
2 Types of Results a Search Engine Results Page May Contain:
1.) Paid Search Results
Paid Search Results launched through the payment of costs! Website owners pay an initial fee so that their website appears at the top of the search engine results page.
It should be noted that Paid Search Results can be quite heavy on the wallet, with no guarantee of ROI. This is because Paid Search does not bill you for your conversions, but based on how many web users clicked on the ad!
2.) Organic Search Results
Organic search results, unlike paid search results, appear on the SERPs naturally because they are related to the keywords and phrases searched by the web surfer.
Logically, a few keywords and phrases might be related to thousands of websites. The problem now for those who rely on organic search results is how they rank at the top of the Google search rankings.
What Is Digital Marketing SEO, and How Does It Work?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the process of improving multiple aspects of your website to rank higher in the Google search rankings. It is a digital marketing strategy that requires quite a bit of effort; however, the positive results it can bring to your web page are massive!
Through the aid of Search Engine Optimization, your website increases its chances of being indexed favorably by the web crawlers, which increases its chances of appearing on the first page of the SERP.
Appearing on the first page means that your website is rated by the web crawlers as relevant and reliable, and as a result, your website has a higher chance of increasing organic search and website traffic.
Types of Digital Marketing SEO Strategies
Listed below are multiple SEO Strategies that you may use so that your web page ranks higher in the rankings of multiple search engines:
On-page SEO
On-page SEO is probably the most common among the SEO Efforts there are. This SEO strategy is where the multiple aspects of a website are improved to generate more organic traffic.
A Few Examples of On-Page SEO Strategies:
1.) Optimizing content to ensure relevant keywords and in-depth relevant content are included.
2.) Clean up your website’s code.
3.) Optimizing your URL, meta descriptions, and page titles.
4.) Perform an SEO audit and install or improve SEO processes on your website.
5.) Integrating Internal Links in your Content
Off-page SEO
Off-page SEO refers to actions performed outside of your own website to increase website traffic. Basically, more traffic can be induced if other platforms and websites are used to endorse your very own website.
A Few Examples of Off-Page SEO Strategies:
1.) Analyze your competitors
2.) Integrate Link Building Strategies and Use External Links
3.) Get Involved with Business Reviews, Forum Discussions, Directory Citations and even News Stories
4.) Use Paid Promotions to Generate Inorganic Traffic
5.) Integrate Social Media Marketing and a social media strategy to compliment your SEO Efforts
Technical SEO
Technical SEO is the process of improving technical aspects of your website to boost organic traffic while assuring that the site’s performance improves.
A Few Examples of Technical Page SEO Strategy:
1.) Ensuring that your site loads fast.
2.) Use relevant title tags.
3.) Use Google Search Console and Google Analytics
4.) Make sure you secure your website and URL
5.) Optimize your website for a mobile interface.
Local SEO Strategy
Local Digital Marketing SEO strategies are much less common due to their focus on ranking higher in local search results. The same search engine optimization efforts mentioned are performed; however, it highly focuses on the local target audience due to its localized intent.
Pros of Digital Marketing SEO
1.) Practices such as using relevant keywords, performing technical optimization on your web page, integrating internal links, and other free-of-charge practices drive traffic to your web site without spending a single dollar.
2.) There is a measurable result when performing search engine optimization.
3.) Improve brand visibility and awareness
4.) Ranking high in Google results leads to more visitors, which leads to higher chances of finding potential buyers, which ultimately leads to higher revenue.
5.) Unlike paid promotions, SEO strategies (which do not require paying money) are 24/7 promotions.
Cons of Digital Marketing SEO
1.) Keyword research, link building, ensuring structured data, and all the other SEO strategies take a lot of time and effort to execute.
2.) Competitors also know how to perform SEO strategies.
3.) It requires specific knowledge and even manpower.
4.) SEO takes a pretty long time to exhibit its positive benefits.
5.) Performing SEO strategies does not guarantee anything.
Here’s a quick SEO in 5 minutes video of everything I’ve talked about:
Is SEO the Future for Websites?
Digital Marketing has grown as a field as rapidly as the Internet has become a part of our daily lives.
One branch of digital marketing is Search Engine Optimization!
Which has been an effective digital marketing approach, for more than a decade already, that allowed website owners to gain more relevant traffic that either grew their website’s following, increased their clientele, or even both.
However, like most strategies and techniques in the business world, Search Engine Optimization is not perfect. It has its own strengths and weaknesses, and it needs to be complemented by other digital marketing strategies to be more effective. It is also noted that, as mentioned earlier, SEO does not provide any guarantee of positive impact despite strictly following the best SEO practices.
Everything boils down to “Is Digital Marketing SEO relevant at all?”
The answer is a solid “YES!“.
Despite the aforementioned challenges and constraints of SEO practices, if done right, SEO can produce a massive positive impact on the website and, most especially, the business that is marketed by the website!
